Pavement milling (also known as cold planing, asphalt milling, or profiling) is the process of removing at least part of the surface of a road, bridge, or parking lot. Venture utilizes a variety of milling machines that have the capability of removing just enough asphalt to level the highway or they can remove the full depth of pavement. Once the machines have removed the material, we can recycle anywhere from 15-40% of the old material to reduce raw material costs for the new asphalt. Costs can be greatly diminished. The asphalt industry recycles nearly 100 million tons of its own product every year, making asphalt America's #1 recycled product.
